In some part of the world there will be a show on the sky tonight. The Moon will enter Earth's shadow. It begins at 2:27 GMT and the beginning of the eclipse will be visible from Europe, Africa and America. The Moon will then set amd the full eclipse will be observable from most of America and part of Africa.
Scientists grew plants in the lunar regolith for the first time ever. They used samples from three different Apollo missions (11, 12, 17). The plants used were Arabidopsis thaliana (thale cress, mouse-ear cress). After 16 days it was clear that plants grew smaller in regolith from regions exposed to cosmic radiation for longer time.
