The biggest known galaxy is 16 million light years across

Astronomers led by Martijn Oei discovered a relatively small galaxy with gargantuan radio jets. The overall size of the object is about 16 million light years. This makes it the biggest known structure created by a single galaxy. If visible, the galaxy named Alcyoneus would be as big as the Moon in the night sky.
