Neutron stars are more common in globular clusters than in the rest of the galaxy. Astronomers now discovered two new neutron stars with rapid spin in globular cluster NGC 6440.
Stars in clusters are born at the same time and from the same material. However astronomers sometimes find more than one population of stars in these star groups. That might be caused by binary stars mergers.
